I am moving my blogging away from blogger onto a wordpress based solution on another host. I have been long disappointed with the features and lack of support blogger provides. The last insult being that due to a snafu on Google's part I cannot carry over my domain Skeptimusprime.com to the new host. From here on out my new posts can be views through SkeptimusPrime.net.

This site will stay up for archive purposes, at least for now, in the meantime update your links to my new page. Thanks for reading.

I get bizarre spam.

Every once in a while I the spam filter catches a really odd comment on one of my posts.

Switched to Disqus for comments

I’ve been working on a few technical changes on my blog recently to make things more accessible and user friendly.  One thing in particular that has always bugged me is the comments system on blogger. It’s functional but pretty light on features.

Blogger introduced a way to switch comments over to a G+ system a while back and it was a bit slicker but still lacked a lot of features, it also had the annoying habit of destroying comments if I had to revert a post to draft for some reason. So I’ve been wanting to replace it for a while, I noticed a lot of people using Disqus so I finally logged into my account there to see how easy it would be to integrate my blog with it. Turns out it was super easy and took like 10 minutes, makes me feel silly for not doing it earlier.

Anyway, for anyone unfamiliar with Disqus you have to sign up for an account to post since I don’t have anonymous posting turned on. You can sign up here, disqus.com.

A couple of general announcements.

First off I made some business cards for the site and they came in today

I think they came out pretty good.

Second I will be doing a talk at SkeptiCamp on Jan 26 dealing with the intersection of science and religion during the protestant reformation.  Did the protestant reformation have an effect on the development of science? I'll see if I can record it and put it up on the blog.

Third, I should be going to the American Atheist convention in Austin at the end of March, I have my plane ticket already, just need to get a hotel room.

New Facebook page.

Just a heads up.

I created a Facebook page for this blog which I'm sure everyone will want to run over and "like" immediately.

I've been busy.

I thought I would make a quick post letting people know I have had quite a bit going on in my life the last few months.

Some bad, some very good, but it has distracted me from posting.  I should be making posts again this weekend.

Busy life

Sorry I have not been keeping up with my blog lately, I have had lots of things going on in my life the last few weeks.  I should be getting part 3 of my religious deconversion out in the next day or so.  Hopefully regular updates will resume at that point.
